Revolutionary new spiritual therapies join Healers' Conference at EcoTulum

TULUM, Mexico (Aug.14, 2006) - Drawing upon powerful cosmic energies resonating
within the Mayan Riviera's mystic past, EcoTulum Resorts & Spa announces the
participation of two innovative healing disciplines in Maya Spa's autumnal healers'
conference: Holotropic Breathwork and Family Constellations.

Though the two disciplines couldn't be more different, they both aim to heal through
self-exploration and a series of consciousness-raising exercises. Holotropic
breathwork was developed in the 1970's by combining modern consciousness research
and ancient spiritual systems. The technique uses accelerated breathing paired with
evocative music to trigger experiences and "non-ordinary states of consciousness,"
such as dreaming or meditation. It attests that we are our own best healers and by
entering non-ordinary states of awareness, breathers open the mind to psychic depths
and spiritual understanding that allow for healing on a physical, mental emotional
and spiritual level.

To enter the psychic realm, students of Holotropic breathwork-a term derived from
the Greek word holos meaning "whole" and trepein meaning "moving in the direction of
something"-lie down with eyes closed, allowing their breath and the music to guide
consciousness. When the individual has reached his or her holotropic state, a
natural inner healing process occurs - triggering anything from lost memories to
experiences from birth - helping participants transcend ordinary thoughts and
habits.

Family Constellations is a revolutionary approach to healing developed by German
Psychotherapist, Bert Hellinger. The practice is based upon revealing the hidden
dynamics in family that are often repressed through generations. By exposing these
repressed issues in a workshop setting, individuals can work to resolve their
problems.

During this type of therapy, an individual must have a clear and long-standing issue
to be addressed (for example, feelings of guilt). In setting up a family
constellation, workshop attendees are chosen to represent members of the
individual's family. The attendees become a living model of the original family
system. While the individual looks on, the therapist asks the mock family about
their feelings and perceptions.

The session runs its course when everyone feels good in their space, or when an
emotionally explosive situation in the family is uncovered. This technique is
designed for individuals and couples interested in solving serious issues, relieving
suffering and finding a solid foundation for new direction in their lives. It's also
ideal for therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, physicians and other
health care professionals interested in enriching their practice and gleaning new
insights about disease and human behavior. To learn more about these practices or to
